Neural Regeneration

Team leader: Harald Neumann

In the central nervous system (CNS) innate immunity is involved in degeneration, but also closely associated with regeneration. Striking examples are disorders as CNS autoimmune diseases, CNS infections, traumatic CNS injuries and neurodegenerative diseases. The Neural Regeneration Group is studying the involvement of microglia in neurodegeneration as well as neuroprotection and regeneration.

The Neural Regeneration group is a non-profit group of the University Bonn and located in the LIFE & BRAIN Center of the University Hospital Bonn. The group is supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and the Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung (Translational Research).
