Neural Regeneration

Team leader: Harald Neumann

In the central nervous system (CNS) innate immunity is involved in degeneration, but also closely associated with regeneration. Striking examples are disorders as CNS autoimmune diseases, CNS infections, traumatic CNS injuries and neurodegenerative diseases. The Neural Regeneration Group is studying the sensing of sialylation by microglial SIGLEC receptors and the complement system and its role in neurodegeneration, as well as protection and regeneration.

The Neural Regeneration group is a non-profit group of the University of Bonn, located in the building 76 on the Venusberg Campus of the University Hospital Bonn. The group is supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.
