The harness                       Back to description
The harness is utterly critical. The one we use in our LB Therapy consists basically of two parts:

The upper part is secured around the chest with two straps. The patient`s arms then go under the supporting belts (which appear triangular in the drawing), so that he can support himself with his arms/hands.

The lower part (D)carries the body weight.Ist lower edge shoul follow the lower contours of the gluteal muscle.
The straps [A] go inbetween the lower limbs and are together with part D secured around the thighs, with the cushions [E] providing comfortable support. It is important that the straps A do not press male genitals; this needs to be ascertained by authorized therapists. Please note that the patient does not sit during training.

The two parts are combined by fastening the straps [B] and [C] to the respective buckles of the upper part.

In order to support the patient's body weight, the whole harness is connected to a supporting system (mounted e.g. on the ceiling) by two metal rings and the supporting belts (top of drawing).

The harness was developed and designed by Dr A.Wernig MD and S.Müller Ph.T. at the Klinikum Karlsruhe-Langensteinbach, Germany
