The Division

The Department of Medical Psychology, was directed from 01.04.2006 to 31.12.2009 by Prof. Dr. Dr. Walter, who is also associate medical director at the Department of Psychiatry (Head: Prof. Wolfgang Maier) was. On 01.01.2010 he changed to the Charité in Berlin, where he heads the research department "Mind and Brain" at the clinic for psychiatry and psychotherapy. He is also responsible for several research groups within the Division of Medical Psychology.

Deputy Director and respensible for teaching is now PD. Dr. med. Henrik Kessler.

The division is responsible for teaching "Medical Psychology and Sociology in Medicine program. Research focuses on the social, cognitive and affective neuroscience, using functional magnetic resonance imaging. Clinically, the focus is on the major psychoses, basics of addiction disorders and neuropsychotherapy.
