SFB 400: Molekulare Grundlagen zentralnervöser Erkrankungen des Nervensystems
Patients
with pharamcoresistant and inoperable epilepsies set their hope in
pharamacological research and the development of innovative more potent
and
more tolerable anticonvulsants. During scientific studies they get a
chance to test the new substance before it is approved officially.
Usually this requires the acceptance of the conditions of a placebo
controlled study during the first study phase, i.e. in about 50% of the
cases patients receive effectless sham medication (sugar) without their
own and their physician's knowledge, but in a second study phase all
patients are set on the true medication condition. In case of
effectiveness, patients will receive the new medication further on also
before official approvement.
For this kind of research the pharamacological industry is dependent on highly experienced and scientifically oriented clinical partners which can make sure the lege artis execution of the study protocol. Please find HERE a more detailed description of our facilities and an introduction of our study ambulance. |
